Anybody ever see a green leather sling with an oval buckle. I thought the oval bucks came on brown slings; Russian. Yes, I've seen one but that doesn't make it real. John

Not sure but you can bet that lots of hardware changed hands in the fifty years the Nagant was in active service. The Finns would use anything they found on the battlefield and replace the broken or unusable bits. Many Russian factories were doing the same thing...

I was always told (by Vic) that both oval an square buckles are both Finnish, just different time frames?
