Price research Galil AR (.308) and Valmet 76 FS (7.62x39)

Post by run 'n gun » Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:54 am

I am the original owner of a pre-ban Galil AR in .308 (with unused Israeli converted 20 rd. M14 mags) and a milled Valmet 76 in 7.62x39 with a tubular folding stock.

I plan to sell them both, but I don't use the gun boards much and would appreciate any recommendations on where to locate current values.

TIA

Value on the Galil depends a lot on precise model and condition. If it is a "pre-1989 ban" rifle in excellent to like new condition, I would estimate "floor" value for of $2,500.

Your milled M76 7.62x39 folder, if original, is relatively rare. Most of the M76 rifles chambered in 7.62x39 have stamped receivers. Again, value depends on condition and available accessories (box, bayonet, etc.). These rifles don't appear on the market very often, so it's hard to assign a value (but I'll try anyway). The rifle itself should bring you at least $4,500. If it is in new-in-box condition with original accessories, I think you could expect a collector to offer $5,000 to $5,500.

Sure would like to see a photo of your Valmet!

Thanks, GG.
While neither one is NIB, they are in original condition and have both been shot and taken care of. They were purchased between '86 and '88 (incl.) At the time, I noticed most imports were lacking extras that were supposedly shipped with the rifles.

I'm out of state at the moment, when I get back, I'll look at posting photos or posting my e-mail for photos.

I would be very interesting in buying your M-76 Milled Tube Folder in 7.62x39. When you work out a price, please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks for the responses. I'll get some photos taken next week and have full descriptions available.

No one likes Galils? :)

Is there some reason you guys prefer GunBroker to AuctionArms?

Thanks,

Phil

Auction Arms, and I forget their new name, rarely has any Valmet items for sale. When they do, their usually very overpriced.

Same goes for Guns America, except their extremely overpriced!

But, just my opinion!!
