Saw a Galil 323S for sale at a gun show for $6,995. Seller said it was a "rare" rifle. It was an AAL import. I figure it got caught up in the '89 ban and was imported after the ban, thus the "S" suffux. My .308 Galil is a 332. I'm not familiar with a 323 Model. Any one confirm this analysis?

The 323 is pretty much the same as the 332 except it has an shorter (18 inch) barrel and no bayonet lug. I think the 332 is actually rarer than the 323. Your assesment of the "S" marking status is right on. The S marked Galils were caught in the middle of the 1989 assault rifle ban and were marked with the S to get them into the states. Most were sold with thumbhole stocks and no flash hider to comply with the 89 ban. In any case $6995 is way out of line for a 323S. A more realistic price would be $2500 to $3500 and probably less considering the S marking on it.

Everything you guys posted looks correct to me. If there is an "S" after 323 it is not consistent with the pre-ban sample I checked which has no "S". 18" barrel, no bayo lug as stated by Dave62.

All Galil variations that arrived in the U.S. and caught in Customs will be marked with a large "S", but will usually retain all of the pre-89 features, whereas those not in the U.S. already will be marked with a small "S", and will usually be neutered!!! :D

Even if it is in perfect condition; it not worth more than 2,500.00 (that price if it has accesseries).
