galil scope mount

Post by vacountryboy » Thu Apr 16, 2009 3:32 pm

what's the best place to find a galil scope mount and whats the going rate for them. I also need to find one for the ar70. that one should be an original in new condition if possible. What optics are usually used on ARM's (5.56).
thanks guys

On the Galil scope mount, originals are usually for sale on GB, Sturm and UziTalk--- $150.00-$250.00!!! :D
An original scope mount with rings for a Beretta AR70 will be very difficult to find--- expect to pay $350.00-$500.00.
I will defer to others on the Galil ARM (5.56x45mm) optics.

What kind of optics do you want to put on the Galil?

I have this outfit. It's compact and effective and looks sharp on the Galil. It was used by the IDF. http://www.scopetica.com/catalog/produc ... cts_id=193 He likes paypal. I like to send a check and wait for it to clear vs. a money order. If you need any more info, PM me. John

John, you are right on, the S.U.I.T. is the best value for an AK on the matket and you WILL not find a real Galil mount for any other kind of base for 70 bucks. Time tested and proven product and there is no need for anything more powerfull on any ak even a Galil. Man size target scope for a man size target rifle. I mean if you got the bucks go ACOG but I love my S.U.I.T.

Yeah Mike, I got my Trilux from Amerisurp last year and the mount from Scopetica. I didn't see any Trilux on the Amerisurp site lately. Scopetica is the only place to get the mount that I've seen and for the right price. I've heard some gripes about some other scopes from Scopetica. I've never had any trouble with there service. John

galil arm optics

Post by vacountryboy » Sun Apr 19, 2009 11:14 am

I'm not sure what would be best but I'm thinking about an acog (if I keep the gun). I am not familiar with the trilux scopes. Who made them?
There are just so many mounts out there, I would like to get what the isreali's use. If not, i'll go with the one from scopetica.
thanks guys

I just got one of those QD mounts from Scopetica - very quick shipping if you use PayPal - and it looks very nice.

For my galil AR I've found the gas tube mount from BSquare adequate for my aimpoint. It's solid and I can still strip the weapon if I need to for cleaning. o problems so fa!

I'm pretty sure, that with the gas tube mount, you won't be able to co-witness an EOTech, if you were considering one of them.

I've got a throw lever steel scope mount with the M16 style channel and an ACOG T04 mounted on it. Great setup. If you are going to go with one of the original side mounted scope mounts I recommend finding one of the slip on cheek rests that are designed to slip right onto a Galil folding stock. It puts your eye right in line with the optics without having to hold your head up off the stock.
