Actually, I was kind of hoping for old parts! ...like tube stock assemblies. But the new picatinny rail sandwiched between the barrel and gas tube is interesting.

EDIT: To add the Finns had been considering adapting a new rifle.

It means only that the Finns will not yet be replacing their Valmet and Sakos. At least this way we dare hope for the limited production of some new parts, Simply out of necessity, The Finns know this is not cost effective.

Old parts will not be made available. Nor would they be easily shipped or imported.

I can all to easily imagine Tikka producing an arx 160 varient. I can also imagine it being altered for climate. But the conditions encountered during Winter War are not what drove the decision. The rifles are orphaned, and the Finns don't just carry them. After re-examination of finances it was "determined" to let well used rifles soldier on.

Is the Bernardeli vbsr still in production?

If so, is the company affiliated with Beretta?

Anyone fit a Magpul stock to a Valmet?

Post by gray » Wed May 25, 2016 10:00 pm

After reading this I wondered whether anyone out there has fitted a Magpul stock to any of their Valmet's? Also, does anyone know how the Magpul stock is fitted ie: are there any modfications required to the receivers, which receivers will accept the Magpul, and is the Magpul stock a special item developed only for Finland or is a commonly available part??

It's normal AR-15 Magpul CTR telescoping stock fitted with adapter.
Adapter only for milled receiver RK62/95 rifles.

If you can get telestock adapter for original Galil IMI receiver it will fit on M62/95 also.
