Cleaning kit implement.

Post by riderboy » Sat Feb 01, 2014 3:49 am

The standard Valmet buttstock cleaning kit comes with an implement that looks somewhat like a bottle opener. In the owners manual it's described as a screwdriver and does have a flathead screwdriver on each end. Is there some other purpose to this thing? The only screw That even remotely fits it is the front sight adjustment screw. Anyone know?

I think it also fits the M76 rear elevation adjustment screw as well as the night sight adjustment screw on the top cover. I have one that has a hole in the center that is threaded so you can use it as a handle with the threaded 7.62 cleaning rod section. I have seen at least two different styles of these, one large and one small.

Thanks! I left it out of the buttstock kit, I really had to push and squeeze to get in the tube stock so it had to go.
