Bringing back an old thread. Curious to see what happened here. It would be nice to see a 5.56 barrel with a faster twist rate, 1:7 or 1:9 maybe. what barrel maker are we talking about too?

Douglas ended up producing only a handful of 7.62x39 Valmet & Galil barrels for personal use. There just wasn't enough interest in this project at the time to receive a volume discount and justify a group buy.

If you are willing to pay the setup costs and have plenty of patience, I'll bet Douglas might run off a few more blanks since they already have the specs. The barrels were then sent to a machinist in TN who matched the final Valmet profile and threading to an NOS barrel.

I have some used barrels up here in Canada I would sell or trade. Two M71 barrels, a .308 M76 barrel, some trunions. Any USA import/DDTC/ITARD/Dept. Of Commerce gobbleygoop would need to be done by the buyers FFL or someone who really knows their shiet.
