See this thread.. http://www.valmet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2621

The adapter was developed with the help of some members here letting MSA borrow some Valmet parts

Yes we do have an adapter... we are making a tweak on it at the moment as we found it was rubbing the rivits on one customers rifle and we are milling replacements to fill orders. We want to adapters to be perfect... fit and finish.

Nathan: any further updates?
Forums members: anyone have a chance to try the "tweaked" version?
Thanks.

Interesting Concept.

Personally I would much prefer using a Mag which was designed for the rifle. To me, using an adapter, would almost be like putting a Chevy engine into a Ford.

But, just my opinion, I'm a purest and perfectionist at heart!!!

Eric: while I too like to keep the weapon as original as possible, the use of an adapter that doesn't require any alteration to the weapon seems to still be keeping to the "code". Besides, while I'm a purist, like you; my wife has no problem with me not paying $60-90 for OEM mags when I can use a $5 USGI mag. So... I blame her.

Folks: just received this from Nathan at MSA:

The last few days have been hectic. We are close to shipping the revised adapter. I am trying to put every tweak I can to cover every minor fitment issue I have been notified about. I want the adapter seamlessly to intergrate. End of this week or next they will be shipping. Thanks

Here is the latest info....

We went back to the drawing board on the design. So much in fact we redesigned the Galil and Valmet adapter to streamline production.

The new adapters are more along the lines of our Saiga adapter which is truer to the lines of an AK mag. These changes were made to find that fine line we could walk without having any changes being made to the Valmet or adapter to work together. Sometimes the simple answer is the best answer.

Another reason for these changes was to allow the adapters to be more versatile in application. With the new Gen4 Galil we are now have less fitting issues and are open to more foreign markets as a result.

Yes it's a slow process but we are trying to make every attempt to catch every issue rather than have it bite us in the rear.

So now that these are coming out the .308 is now next in line for finalization.

Thanks

Hey Nathan,
I emailed you about a week ago about the M76 adapter (to which I got a prompt response). Does this mean there is a delay? Should I wait to order? If I order in the next week or two, when should I expect delivery?

Sorry for all the questions, just excited to check this out.

Hmmm, this is starting to sound a bit like an infomercial!

Presidential Primary - vote for 1 of 5 or so *hitheads you don't want.
Presidential Election - vote to stop the other *hithead from winning.
Result, it didn't work.

Infomercial? Lol, just tired of looking for Valmet mags. Hope this isn't too good to be true. Hoping to insure that if and when I send money, I get an adapter. Does anyone else make something like this?

There are almost always some Valmet Mags for sale on Gunbroker, as well as on Sturmgewehr.com. Plus, it's currently a buyers market!!
