M76 tube stock details

Post by dnepr0mike » Tue Jan 23, 2018 3:24 pm

I just picked up an m76 that came with broken stock. wood split into 3 pieces probably from someone 'mortaring' it. I've been wrecking my brain on how to repair it or maybe get a repro custom made, but so far neither option seems like a feasible one.
Someone suggested to put a tube stock instead and i kinda dig that idea. Problem is tube stocks just as impossible to find as wood stock. I found a guy who has just a butt portion of the tube stock - no other parts. I'm thinking I could fabricate a tube for it but i have no clue how fixed tube stock interfaces with stamped receiver trunnion. i had no luck googling photos of that area. there is plenty valmet tube stock photos but not one that has nice detailed image of the receiver/trunnion/tube interface.

is anyone on here who has fixed tube on the stamped gun can make some photos for me to look at? I'm confident i can fabricate a bracket attachment as long as i can see how it's made by finns. i want to stay true to the original and not 'micky-mouse' something up .

I hope one of you gents are kind enough to help me out.
