WTK: Date of mfg. for M.A.R.S. CETME

Post by ValmetRKm62 » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:21 am

Hi- recently acquired a like new pre-ban M.A.R.S. CETME and while I know that these were imported during the 1960s I'd like to try and narrow down the year of mfg if possible. It's a wood-stocked version (non metal forearm), #S-0251X. Any information is much appreciated!

PM problems again!!!

1258 imported (03-11-65 through 02-18-71). :D

1. 4 prototypes (B-19558 and B-19561/B-XXXXX factory cutaway/C-35030)
2. S-Series (854 are pre-68/400 are post-68)
3. SN range that I have data on is S-0210X* through S-0272X* (it seems that those around S-02300* and below had the metal forends with bipods, while those above had the wooden forends)

My best guess on your SN would be late 1960's (possibly early 1970's).
