Did you find any "burrs" or undue roughness inside the magazine body or on/around the follower while you were cleaning? If yes and if you eliminated those "burrs" or rough areas, you might be good to go without any new springs. I don't know where you can find replacement springs. That might be a tri...

Cool.... You know... I never really thought about the wood a manufacturer in Israel might use. Sycamore! I remember the old Sunday school song about Zacchaeus climbing a SYCAMORE tree to see Jesus. I guess there must be a few sycamore trees in the Holy Land. I've actually got one in my front yard! I...

It sounds to me that the last couple of rounds are not being properly presented (speed and/or feed angle). As the last rounds are influenced by the magazine follower (and its travel) more than earlier rounds, make sure the follower is not "binding" or sluggish as it nears the top of the magazine. I ...

Hi Renny. Welcome to the website! We hope you'll stick around and participate. There are a lot of good guys around here that are both knowledgeable and helpful. Sounds like you've got a great rifle. Valmet made commercial Model 78s for the export market in the 1980s chambered for the 5.56x45 NATO (l...

For what it's worth, I found the following information on a different website: The basic design of Orava was based to small-size small bore rifles manufactured by Simson, JGA, Geco and Hanel in 1920's and 1930's. The person who designed Orava is not known and from the previsouly mentioned designs, i...

The Numrich Parts website is often helpful in trying to determine what parts are necessary for an assembly project. Sometimes Numrich even has the parts in stock. This link might help (Check out parts #8 and #9): http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/ActionArms-33110/GalilSeries-34439/GalilARMSe...

At least one M76 variation (7.62x39 milled folder) has a stock that folds to the right. Interesting... I've never heard of there being any issues with the strength of a M76 folder hinge. I'd be curious if anyone else has heard of such.

Mike... You might try this source. I purchased a couple of 25 rounders from them about 4 years ago without any issues. The ones I received were in very good condition and marked "IWI" which I've been told is effectively a reorganized "IMI" (i.e., Israeli Military). The price currently reported on th...

Yes, the slide fire stock is the only accessory I can think of that she might be describing. I guess she and her staff are not familiar with the difference between fast semi-auto fire and "full auto" operation.

Senator Feinstein on Face the Nation

Did anyone else have an opportunity to watch "Face the Nation" on CBS this morning? Senator Feinstein was featured and argued in support of her proposed "assault weapon" legislation. During the interview (and if I heard her correctly), Senator Feinstein stated that there existed a slide on stock (pr...
