We need to find out if the gun had a factory pin in the hole but was semi-auto. I think ATF may be wrong in this instance as we have seen other import marked Valmet's as I recall as well as ones with the pin hole welded.

Tony what do you think?

I think that history will come to show Hugo Schmeisser and other Germans to be the real designer of the AK. The Americans actually had Schmeisser in custody and managed to not bring him to the US or we would have been the originators of the AK. Hey its just a Garand shaped like an STG44 anyway. Bril...

Yes the Galil is a farm tractor where the Valmet .223 folder is a Ferrari. They are really well made and fun. Then again I was out shooting my 78 RPK 7.62x39 full auto and ...well...Wow! I need to go out and do that again. Remind me why I didn't shoot it for several years?

It would seem like we may start seeing guns from NY showing up more for sale due to the new illegal laws passed.

78's in full auto, yes! A real RPK with controlability. You should see if you can arrange to shoot one.

Just to give you a bit of history on the 308 guns. The 308 RPK is an outstanding full auto! It cycles very slowly and is really controllable. I would think this gun was converted to use cheaper ammo. Can you post some pictures of the barrel maybe under the handguards as well. I think we should try t...

I have seen early Valmet 62's with 3rd pin holes and welded 3rd pin holes from the factory. These were very early guns. I don't remember if they were importer marked.

If the mags are 40 round .223 mags you would need an HK 33 mag spring. That is what they are patterned after.
