Sounds really familiar. Would not swear to it though.

I'm still digging to find out who soldered all those Valmet scope rails onto Chinese AK top covers....

Actually, I've never had this problem on anything this new. Had an old Garand that was started on this path. this was many years ago and it too was caused by foam rubber in contact with the metal. There may be something much better but I was a kid and thinking something was eating at it - I used wha...

Chemicals in the foam have started a chain reaction. Soak it down with something that might stop the process and see whats left. The above posted product may work as well as any. If that doesn't do it, or if it stops it and it still looks like crap, only recourse is to have it reparked.

I guess he didn't know that if the auction ran it's course, he could have done better.

Since you placed a bid only and didn't actually win the auction - per se, what he did could be considered fair....although I wouldn't like it either.

ebay cleaning kit

Been looking for kits for two/three years when all of a sudden, there are several of them available. Passed on the previous 2 M78 kits because for other bidders. Picked this kit up this morning off ebay for $12.85. Seller didn't know it was a Valmet kit and no one else bid :) First glance says .223 ...

No offense, but isn't that rod a tad short for an M78 length barrel?

Don't me me remember the milled folder in 7.62x39 I passed on for $1100. Course, back in those days, the 76's were bringing more money than the 62's.

I received my .223 kit from him today - nice. I think I got my scope mount from the same guy 2-3 years ago. Congrats on the kit - I was tempted to bid at that price :)

Excellent plus condition M76 scope mount. The one with reinforced top cover and flip up sight - detachable mount with rings. Will only trade for minty Fiskars bayonet with green leather scabbard. Will exchange photos.

Bought a bayonet....thanks
