It may have been on Brian's site that I read years ago that there were only 36 imported total. Of those I know that 1 is now in Canada. I have a hunter with the .30-06 bolt and mags. But, it is chambered in .308. It requires a spacer in the back of the mag and there still is a little play in the fro...

Valmet remains an incredibly large complex company. It sold off several divisions including small arms. This was purchased by Sako, which in turn was bought by the Italians. In WI the company is still alive and very well. It has a presence here under the name of Metso. It is involved in every aspect...

I have briefly handled on. It was well made. The finish compares to the Galil. It would be a very simple process to convert it to a gas action rifle. The one that I examined was imported with a third hole drilled and included the sear. This would keep it from being legal to convert from pump action....
