Re: Tommo's awesome links!

I, too, appreciate all of the links showing info about the various firearms. While I don't post messages all that much anymore, I do enjoy reading the posts of others. Tommo's the man!

Re: Sako RK92/95 M92 Black waffle Magazines 7.62x39

In the USA, one might expect to get about $200 for a "LIKE NEW" FDF castle mold magazine. For the more common black SAKO magazines (no castle mold mark), one might expect to get about $150 each. It really depends on the market and who's looking to buy. Values go down, of course, for scuffed, scratch...

I seem to remember, too, that Qatar acquired "chromed" Valmets similar to the M71 pattern that were used for parades, honor guard ceremonies, etc.

Hi Train... welcome to the forums. We're glad you're here, and we hope you'll enjoy participating. It sounds like you've accumulated a nice collection of magazines. It's a fascinating study! We'd love to see photos of example of any rare or unusual Valmet magazines. I only have two black Valmet maga...

Scirocco85...

Have you, too, modified your rifle's safety lever. It appears that a curved sheet metal extension has been attached to the original. Does that make it easier for you to engage and disengage the safety lever?

... I seem to remember this rifle was dropped onto concrete with a scope attached. It must have torqued the wall of the receiver, where the scope mount dove tail gets close to the mag well. That makes sense to me. The milling for that scope dovetail area does thin the receiver in that area. That to...

Steve... In case you're curious, here is a photo of a 12 Round Galil magazine inserted into my milled receiver M78. Again, it fits and locks into place and functions, but it's a very tight fit.

Steve... for what it's worth. The variations in the .308 rifle models, milled versus stamped, etc. have resulted in a lot of confusion over the compatibility of magazines. Unfortunately, very few commercial factory magazines made it into the USA prior to the 1989 ban. Everything was made worse by Pr...

Mike... I'm not an expert, but here goes... Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The Finns produced some military RK71 rifles chambered in 7.62x39 during the early 1970s. These rifles had fixed tube stocks, and at least a few had Russian style AK underfolder stocks. The M71 was the commercial exp...

Is the MR 076XX serial number in a "vertical" orientation behind the wooden handguard? Also do you see "Galil" stamped anywhere on the rifle's receiver? If the answers are "yes" and "no" respectively," I think you have what is considered a transitional rifle imported by Action Arms during or around ...
